Our Mission

Mariposa Homeschool Collective is a co-op of homeschooling families dedicated to enriching the educational and social experiences of our children. Led by experienced homeschooling parents, we offer a wide range of group classes in traditional academic subjects—such as math, literature and writing, science, and history—as well as Spanish, life skills, the arts, and more. Our members also enjoy educational field trips to museums, galleries, and cultural sites, along with social gatherings like game nights, holiday parties, formal dances, and more.

At the heart of Mariposa is our desire to support families in raising children who are not only academically prepared, but also thoughtful, resilient, and compassionate. We aim to nurture young people who communicate with kindness, think critically, and contribute positively to the world around them.

We foster a warm and respectful environment grounded in love, compassion, and consideration for others. Our leadership strives to communicate with grace, and we are committed to maintaining a community where all members are treated with dignity and respect.

Mariposa is a faith-neutral organization, respecting each individual's right to their own beliefs while supporting one another in the shared journey of homeschooling.  Guided by a board of Christian parents, our non-profit organization recognizes the role of parents as the primary leaders in their children’s spiritual development.  As our membership includes different denominations and faiths, we do not offer formal religous instruction.  Our teachers and classes use a variety of curriculum that range from Christian to secular and parents are always able to preview materials prior to registering for classes to make sure it's a good fit for their families.
