Why Mariposa?

Mariposa—Spanish for butterfly—beautifully captures the heart of our homeschool collective. In nature, butterflies are diverse, vibrant, and free—just like the children and families who make up our community. The butterfly symbolizes unity in diversity, the strength of collaboration, and the beauty that emerges when people from different backgrounds come together with shared purpose.

Like a butterfly’s transformation, our children grow and flourish through the nurturing environment we create together. The name Mariposa reflects our belief that true strength and beauty arise when individuals are honored, supported, and given the space to become who they are meant to be.

At Mariposa Homeschool Collective, we are more than a co-op—we are a community rooted in love, inclusion, and mutual respect. We offer rich academic experiences alongside meaningful social connections, cultivating both the mind and heart.
